Bob Goode (founder of Land Art)

As a child, my dad and uncle started a palm tree nursery. When I was 11 years old, I assisted them with the business and really enjoyed it. It was a lot of work, but I bragged to my friends about being able to use a nail gun when building boxes. Since I got paid a little, most of them were envious. After many years, my dad and uncle sold the nursery, but we always dabbled in horticulture. I married my high school sweetheart when I was 18. While attending college with ambitions of being an architect. Although I supported my family working in multiple trades, my ultimate goal was to own my own business as a landscape contractor. At 27 years old, I had an opportunity to work for a residential pool and landscape company. There, I learned the technical end of the trade and obtained a pool and landscape contractors license during my 7 years with them. Short after, I started my own business. I enjoyed running my own company for 5 great years but had some family issues that led me to a decision to close my doors and go to work for a good friend of mine, which allowed me to have more personal time. In the 2 year hiatus, I missed the industry greatly.  Getting back into this wonderful work has been a lot of fun. My wife is very happy for me and excited to see me enjoying my work again. We have three kids (boy, girl, boy). Both boys have worked with me on and off throughout the years, and my daughter has started helping with the photographer and social media end of it. The youngest at 15, started showing a real interest in the trade. At 23, in 2019, he earned his license and we have partnered to get him started in his new career. I live my life by the word of God with Jesus Christ as my Lord. I’m not perfect by any means, but I strive to live by John 15:12 and love the people in my circle of influence. I believe that has helped me be a better man, not only to my family, but to the families I serve through landscaping. That is what I strive to bring to this company, a love for the client that will bring an experience in landscaping like they’ve never seen.

When I was a young child I loved building things. My family and I lived on acres of land, and there I would enjoy building dirt jumps for BMX, or half pipes to skateboard on. I have always looked up to my dad. Even as a kid I wanted to tag along with him on job sites. I have really enjoyed watching my dads designs come to life. He has set such a great example of putting others before himself. Watching him become successful because of that has made a huge impact on my life. When I turned 18, I realized I wanted to get into landscaping. I started working for my dad to see if this was something I wanted to pursue, and with that I grew a deep love for this work. Then, at 23 I followed in my dads foot steps and decided to get my Contractor’s License. This has been a huge goal of mine and I’m happy to say I have accomplished it. I now get to do something I love everyday with one of my favorite people, and I love watching our clients faces light up when a design comes to life.
